No if you look on the side that doesn't have a window there should be a sticker with a code on it, type that in. Also don't get rid of the sticker because if you have to reinstall the operating system then it will ask you for the code again, at least that is what I am 99% sure what you need it for again but that is what a geek squad member told me.
