With video editing you want more cores, amd are pretty good at rendering videos. I have a 2010 pc with a amd phenom II quad core 2.8 ghz and it renders slowly but still renders well with sony vegas. So an amd fx overclocked quad core 3.8-4.2 ghz would be a way better upgrade. So yes it would be
