• There are NO external 5.25" drive bays, only internal.

• This machine comes with a micro motherboard, however it is fully upgradable. Look inside and you will see the slots for a full sized motherboard. Until then the only way to add a blue ray/dvd player is to use an external one. I suggest using one of the 3.0 usb slots on the top. Also if you want faster download speed use an ethernet cable instead of the provided wifi thumb drive.
