“Would it be possible to have windows 7 installed instead and would it cost more”

Anonymous, While you could install Windows 7 on the system after receiving it, these configurations ship pre-assembled and with Windows 8.1 already installed. If you choose to install another O/S after you receive the system, our friendly Customer Service Team can assist you with any questions you have.
