Yes, it will keep recording. It records as long as there is motion and you can set the duration of time that the unit will record once motion is no longer detected. The "SLEEP" button on the monitor front turns the display off until motion is detected at according to your settings. If motion is detected, the camera will turn back on automatically while recording.

The PhoenixM2 will continue to record until motion is no longer detected and you do have the option to select a post recording time of 15, 30 or 60 seconds. While the system will not record while the monitor is powered off, you can put the monitor into sleep mode which will turn the screen off but allow the system to record.
