YES THEY WOULD
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely...It's not necessary to point them down either. Just mount them at a height (3-4 feet) above the sound field. Mine are sitting on a shelf about 10 feet off the floor...works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My answer is yes, if you prefer not to use in-ceiling speakers. You would have to use a wall mounting bracket if you were to install them on the ceiling or just installing them higher on the rear wall. I am currently using them as rear speakers on my Atmos 7.1.2 with a 7.2 Yamaha receiver. In the future, I am considering using in-ceiling speakers on a 7.1.4 setup, using a 9.2 or 11.2 receiver that will support it. I am also using a wireless kit that I purchased from Best Buy for these speakers, very minimal latency and the speakers still sound excellent.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Atmos speakers should point downward and upward depend on your setup. What I have read the sound should reflect off the Ceiling down toward the listing area for height. I was looking on you tube were someone had extra speakers point upward to get Atmos sound. I don't if this helps. there is other web site for information I don't know if I can give the names of other sites. I use AV audio sites before I buy any audio equipment. I do a lot of research before I buy what I know you can use your Definitive Monitor 1000 as rear. I also upgraded my center to the Definitive Center 1000 I believe for a 100.00 more you can purchase the 2000 both are excellent centers. My next upgrade will be my rears and adding on the heights.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These are not recommended for atmos settings. Suppose to be flush mount speakers in the ceiling
