No. It's not needed. Apple software programs (Keynote, Pages, Numbers) all work with Microsoft files. You're also able to create documents in these programs, and export corresponding Microsoft files.

Also, you'll have the ability to create a document, say in Pages or Keynote, and export it to a compatible Microsoft Office document, if needed. Essentially, the Microsoft Office software isn't needed for Macs.
