There are many very good free antivirus software programs available online. I've used CNET in the past; I don't know if their website is still up and running. Years ago CNET had an excellent computer forums website you could go to offering many resources although I don't know if their forums board is still operational or not. I do not recall virus protection being included when I purchased this for my kid.  I pay separately for a McAfee annual subscription and add all of my devices to that.
