The 8 GB RAM in this model runs at 4,267 MHz It Is NOT Expandable The 12 GB RAM in the 15.6" model runs at 3,200 MHz (4 GB + 8 GB) PLUS the EVO platform is designed to be more responsive. These will play many games, but the refresh rate of 60 FPS and lacking a Dedicated Graphics Module means they aren't True "Gamer", but they do have plenty of speed and responsiveness for multitasking. It's only $$$, BUT an EVO i7 w/16 GB RAM would be tops.
You cannot upgrade the memory on this system as the memory module is integrated on the system board. However, this laptop is an excellent choice to do multitasking.
Tbh, I don't know if it is expandable. 512 is more than adequate for my use since much is cloud-based. I have no trouble multitasking or doing anything else with this machine. I really like it's lightweight versatility. I probably haven't answered your question adequately but I really don't think anyone would go wrong with this laptop
