To be honest, I haven't tried to record anything - yet. When I bought he computer it was my understanding that you can record (CD / DVD) discs. The back has 6 USB ports (all 2s and 4 in the front. I believe. The back is shown on this web page: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIADUM5YN4956. I am still transferring data from my old computer.and will use the DVD drive in two weeks when I return from a family visit. I am satisfied with thee computer.
