“So no audio is coming through even though I hooked up both the hdmi and display port cable through to my laptop. I’m assuming this monitor has no built in speakers and I need to buy a speaker(s) for it to have audio come through. Any compatible speakers?”

Not sure about the compatibility of speakers, but from what I found the sound settings applies to the 3.5mm jack at least. Not sure if there is any built in speakers. I would highly suggest just looking for a USB headset or sound system for your PC. Most internal speakers are low quality audio.
