Yes, you must go through an online training with a school designated by the FAA, but the process is quite easy, it can take a couple of hours, after passing the course they will send you your license by email. Attached the link to the FAA where you will find all the information about it. https://www.faa.gov/uas/commercial_operators/become_a_drone_pilot/

If you are only flying for personal use, you take a short (very easy quiz) on the FAA site, you will also have to register your UAV there. If you will be flying for commercial use (charging people) you need your Part 107
