Yes but I noticed a difference when I brought after only for my air 2 their were 1 year plans but when I placed order on https://click.dji.com/AIc9WTUlzZ-tIlPDNA?dji_from=dji-pilot-app&pm=dji-pilot-app i had option for 2 year at time of purchase for mini 2. But yes but can vary.

If you are talking about like DJI Care refresh, that CAN be purchased during the activation of the drone through DJI and you have 48 hours from time it is registered to purchase those warranties through manufacture.

They can purchase the DJI Care refresh, which is good for one year from the date of registration, which will repair or replace the drone depending on what the problem is and it is probably better then the insurance that you could get through Best Buy and cheaper too at $45 I believe. You would have to ask at Best Buy if the insurance is available at the store or call customer service I believe if you wanted to go that route. You can look at the DJI Care refresh at their website DJI.com

Yes as long as the recipient of the gift is the one that sets up the DJI account when the drone is registered, they will then have up to 48 hours to purchase insurance from DJI, I am sure Best Buy insurance can also be purchased as long as it is done before you start flying.

If you mean DJI care refresh, I believe you have a few days after it is registered to enable the refresh.
