Dear customers, Thanks for your inquiry. Please kindly note that the DJI Mini 2 weighs less than 249 grams and no real-name registration is required. You are advised to check the local rules for confirmation. Besides, the DJI Mini 2 includes the insurance. Best regards, DJI Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Remember the 5 dollar fee is from the FAA. You will also have to register with the state you live in. In Minnesota the fee from the FAA is 5 dollars for 3 years but the state charges 100 dollars per year. This is why I prefer the Mini. No registration no fees.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Anything over 250grams in the US requires FAA registration and the Air 2 does require it, be sure to read the rules and regulations once you register because you will have to tag your drone with your registration numbers much like a boat or a car in the US.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No insurance. 5 bucks is to register with the FAA. U print out a card after u pay and carry it with u. Your drone over 250grams also need the number attached somewhere easily seen on the drone. You’d have to call your insurance company for insurance or if you just want the drone insured DJI has a program if you crash it they’ll replace or fix it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the Mini 2 which does not need to be registered because it’s under the weight limitations. I’m in Minnesota and after Googling registering a drone here it said that you don’t have to register a drone for recreational purposes in Minnesota only if it’s being used for commercial purposes. I didn’t see anything about the registration fee providing insurance, I would assume your home owners policy would cover an accidents. I think registration is only so they can track the user.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No need to register at 249g. Not sure what insurance you are referring to. FAA does not offer insurance. Check out B4UFLY app. ALL info on what zones to fly and not to fly. You still need to follow the basic rules as per FAA. (altitude, line of sight, etc).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.what insurance? The one provided by DJI?? if yes, then you do not need to register the drone with the FAA. You do need to buy the insurance from DJI in the first 48hrs of activating it with DJI. Otherwise, you will need more proof if you decide to get it after the 48hrs of activation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
