Is it normal for the brushbar to always be turn on when using the vacuum? Everytime I turn on the vacuum the brushbar turns on to and have to press the button to turn it off. null

Yes it's normal for it to be turned on when the vacuum turns on.

I tried the vacuum with your question in mind. On a bare floor, the brushbar did not go on at all. On a rug, it went on if and only if the handle was not firmly at the standing position. So, I would recommend making sure you hear a "click" when you set the vacuum to a standup position. The brushbar should not go on, and if it does, you might have a defective switch.

This is Carissa with Dyson. Yes, the brush bar was designed to automatically turn on when you power on the unit and recline. Just press the gray button next to the power button to turn it off.
