“I recently purchased the V10 Animal Pro and the battery life is not nearly 40 minutes. It’s maybe 15 minutes. I charged it overnight, I’m hoping I just got a bad battery. I’ll be reaching out to Dyson to inquire.”

Your battery life is dependent upon which power setting you have it on... Suction mode 1, Suction mode 2, or Maximum suction, unless you actually have a defective battery. I've gotten around 25 minutes or so using Suction mode 2.

Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job. In suction setting 2, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date.
