Hello Mike, this is Kelly with Dyson. There are three suction modes with the Dyson Cyclone V10. The run times are as follows: With Motorised Head: 5 minutes (High) 20 minutes (Medium) 35 minutes (Low) and Without Motorised Head: 5 minutes (High) 30 minutes (Medium) 60 minutes (Low). The Animal model will also feature the torque drive cleaner head, which has a built-in suction control slider, for better control when vacuuming larger debris or even thicker carpeting. We have found that low or medium suction is ideal for everyday vacuuming, and high suction can be reserved for more stubborn messes. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
