Hi Fran, this is Kelly with Dyson. Great question regarding the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. Dyson machines are intended for use in the country where purchased; as they are not dual-voltage. While you could use an adaptor or converter, we do not recommend that, as it can cause your machine to overheat or malfunction. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
