Hello Paul, This is Miella from Dyson. Dyson products are designed specifically for the countries they are sold in, and machines manufactured for the United States are designed for 110-120v electricity. Our machines are not multi-voltage and we do not recommend using a converter with any of our products and such usage is not covered under warranty. We recommend leaving the Supersonic at home during your abroad travels. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Support
