Hello Kai, This is Miella from Dyson. Should you need to replace the V11 Origin, the battery can be removed/detached. The Dyson V11 Origin cordless does have the trigger mechanism, no matter the mode, and the power is only engaged when the trigger is engaged. The machine has up to 60 minutes of run time.
