“What other Ecobee items do I need to use the SmartSensor for doors and windows? Do I need to purchase the security camera too? The app won't let me connect just the smart sensors for doors and windows. Thank you!”

• ecobee SmartSensor for doors and windows can be paired to either ecobee SmartCamera or an ecobee smart thermostat. To enable alerts and features like pause heating when a door or window is open you'll also need an ecobee Smart Security subscription starting from $5 USD per month.

• You also need an Ecobee thermostat. The Smart Sensors only connect to an Ecobee thermostat.
