No. The ethernet connections are available on each device if needed but not required. You only need to connect ethernet on the main device.

no. only one needs to be connected via ethernet cable to your modem/router from your provider. the others connect to the base hub once by either Ethernet OR wireless.

No, You connect the 1st one to the router the next 2 you place with in range of the 1st one. You will connect one at a time.Then they will all mesh as one wifi sig.I have mine about 35 ft apart. It covers my hole house and yard.Best buy i have ever made. They work great. Good Luck. Ps , IT WAS HARD TO SPENT $300.00 BUT VERY GLAD IT DID.
