Depends on how your house is wired. I plugged mine directly into the wall outlet which connects back to a FIOS router in the basement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only need the xfinity modem if xfinity says you have to have it. Otherwise just use the direct ethernet connection from your provider and you're good to go.
