• Ember mugs need Ember charging coasters. The home coasters use AC (wall plug) power supply only. [I don't have a travel mug; I've no idea if the travel mug's charging coaster can use car power plug.] Plug itself is a sizable AC to DC converter; fine for direct plug into wall socket, space hog if trying to use a power strip / multi-plug set up.

• Hi Mary, thanks for reaching out! The Ember charging coaster comes equipped with a US 2-prong power source plug-in that can accept anything between 100VAC and 240VAC.
