Yes it can. But it will make the battery run out quicker.

Absolutely cannot heat up to room temperature. You need to warm up your water first by a stove or microwave or kettle and then you can pour it in the Ember travel mug. The only thing that the travel mug can do is keep the temperature warm up to 62.5 degrees celsius. Hope this helps God bless
