I wanted to like this product. The more I use it the less I like it. The good: it does heat up the coffee, it is sturdy, does not leak, looks nice. The bad: heats up slowly. For instance, with creamer takes a while to get up to temperature si ve the cold creamer bring the coffee temperature down after it brews. It also thinks it’s empty when the coffee is there. Once it heats up and you open to drink the coffee splatters everywhere because of the pressure built up. Makes a mess. Your clothes will be splotched. I put my hand over it and of course all over my hand then need to wash off. If you’re driving this is bad. See what I mean. The battery will last enough to only heat the one time then Luke warm coffee if you don’t recharge. The charger works as expected with reasonable recharge time. A great concept but too expensive for so many drawbacks and I bought it on sale! I’ll keep a look out Ember. Ball is on your court. You can do it.

This travel mug is great if you have long commutes or tend to slowly sip your coffee or tea throughout the day. It does a great job at maintaining the temperature allowing you to enjoy your drink for longer. The battery is decent considering its constant temperature it is able to maintain, but still, you won't get more than a couple of hours before needing to be charged and that's being generous. Great for your long commute to keep things warm, but don't plan on it lasting much longer. The twist bottom is an easy and unique way to turn the temp up and down, but isn't always responsive and can take a few turns sometimes to get a response. It's also not the most user-friendly design with smart features. not having any type of button or symbol indicating on/off and instead, uses the logo as the on/off feature takes some getting used to. Sometimes doesn't work if not held in the perfect spot. The feel and design of the mug is great though and the cap seals perfectly for those times you accidentally drop and with the way it's designed, even if the seal is open, very little spills out yet still is easy to drink from. One of the best parts of the mug is the design and look, but that doesn't justify the high price tag. I know there is a second version, but beyond the more user-friendly interface for smart features, I don't know how the price is justified. I might recommend it if it was half the price, but even then it would still be an overpriced product that leaves you wishing for more.

Hello All, Like most people here I like to explore new items that are cool that are designed to make life easy or better. In this case the price tag does not meet expectations. I bought both the Travel and Ceramic Mug and found that the Travel mug's battery discharged faster than the ceramic Mug. So I did some tests and sent it off to ember support to see if they can replace or repair my mug. Here are my results. Test 1 - Cold to Hot Both Mugs 100% Battery Liquids - 78 Degrees F Desired Temperature - 132 Degrees F Results: 30 Mins in to the test: Ceramic Mug - 65% Battery Travel Mug (With Lid On) - 0% Battery Test 2 - Maintaining a temperature Both Mugs 100% Battery Liquids - 141 Degrees F Desired Temperature - 141 Degrees F Results: 10 Mins in to the test: Ceramic Mug - 95% Battery Travel Mug (With Lid On) - 78% Battery 45 Mins into Test: Ceramic Mug - 50% Battery Travel Mug (With Lid On) - 0% Battery Working with their support team they claim that's the expected results about 1 hour of usage from the travel mug, and they where amazed how the ceramic mug was over performing… Well if the price of having a drink at the same temperature for less than an hour for $160 USD, then please count me out. I could by a decent travel mug that holds more liquid for under $60 USD. So thanks ember for wasting my hard earn money on a product that is not worth the price

The Ember Travel mug was made to create the best drinking experience by allowing you to choose your ideal drinking temperature. The Ember works by pouring in hot liquid, then through temperature regulation keeping it at a specific degree between 120°F and 145°F.

Battery life depends on a number of factors, such as pouring temp, adding creamer, etc. We typically expect about 2 hours with a target temperature of about 130°F, which is a popular preferred temperature. On the coaster, the mug will keep the perfect temperature all day! Ember

Has worked so far but the lid eventually stopped working (it wont stay open) and occasionally it just doesn't turn on even though it is at full charge. I have heard other people encounter this as well. Would not really be an issue if the replacement lids were in stock; but they arent... But I have to say. It works. I always used to have to throw away coffees because I would forget about them for 30 minutes and find them too cold. This solves that issue. Additionally this solves the issue of burning your mouth since it tells you the exact temp and will even send a notification to your phone when that happens. No more scared taste tests where you inevitably burn your tongue trying to see if its safe to drink. Don't get confused though, this is not something to heat up cold coffees. You can sometimes do that but it will tank the battery. I see a lot of people not look into this before buying it just to complain it doesn't do what it never said it did. I really hate the price, its really just a $20 peltier plate from Alibaba and (maybe) a $15 battery within a $10 aluminum mug. But because they somehow convinced the US patent office this was some original invention, no one but companies in Asia who are not subject to US law can make a competitor. Thus if you want the features I outlined above, you need to pay the egregious price.

So I really wanted to love this, the idea of it is amazing but in practice it falls short. I bought two of these on sale, one as a gift and the other for myself that I eventually returned. The ember mug does an excellent job of either getting your coffee hot or keeping it hot but the one major downside it has, that eventually caused it’s return, was the battery life. With freshly brewed coffee at a temperature of 135F the mug would last around 1hr before the battery would called it quits. If connected to the proprietary charging base this was no problem but if on the go (or work in my case) this does become a bit of a pain. The battery issue would be less of a problem if the mug was better insulated. After about 20 or 30 minutes of the battery dying (with the included lid on and closed) my drink would already be noticeably cooler. If they improved the battery life, tweaked the insulation, and changed the charging base to be more universally compatible (QI) this would be a 5 star item. As is, I would recommend to wait for an updated version.

Originally I wanted to buy a white one but Best Buy only had black. I’m glad that I got the black one. The drink will stay at the temperature you select using the dial at the bottom of the cup or on the Ember app. Once charged it will cool the drink down to desired temp and maintain it there for approx 2 hours. However since I work at a desk I just leave the cup in the charging dock and it keeps it warm all day. I ended up buying two so I can have one at home too. My second one is white and it stains on the outside pretty quickly, wish I would have gotten a black one instead. One only thing is if you are traveling more than 2 hours, the battery will die and no way to charge it as there is no car charger for it. I’d be happy to change it to 5 stars when they come out with the car charger.

I have been keeping an eye out on this product since the beginning. I'm a big coffee drinker, and always keep my coffee in Hydroflask cups. Using no electronics, the Hydroflask keeps my coffee hot for several hours. I saw that the Ember was on sale, so I jumped on it immediately, I always thought the Ember was the coolest thing, and being I drink several cups of coffee every single day, this would fit perfectly! First, shipping sucks. Took several weeks for it to arrive, I even had to contact the shipping company to track it. When I finally got it, it was beautiful, a work of art. Well, that's the best part about it, it looks great. I charged it up, filled it up with freshly brewered coffee (it only fits about 8 ounces or so) and set the temperature (145 degrees) and off I went. Within just over an hour, the battery was dead, and my coffee got cold. This is unacceptable. My hydroflask would hold the temp well for at least 3 hours, with no fancy electronics. So, why not just leave it on the charging pad? Well, it's not portable, meaning, it has to be plugged into an electrical outlet. I wish they made an adapter to fit the car outlet or a portable battery bank. They don't. Don't get me wrong, this is a very cool product, it lights up, you can customize it a little, very nifty, but it needs a much better battery, some good insulation would help, and really make it portable.

I bought this for my daughter as she has a long commute every morning. It may be the best gift I have bought her!!!! Temperature can be set via the mug or the Ember app which is a plus. I have been pleased with how well it works although the charge time of 2 hours could be better. For for my daughter its sufficient to get her to work each morning, Its a bit pricy but picked it up on sale and felt it was a great bargain.

It keeps beverages at a specific temperature well for 60 to 90 minutes, which is great for drinks that taste better at precise temperatures, like coffee and tea. When the battery runs out, the contents get cold quickly. If one just wants to keep something hot for as long as possible, then one would be better off getting a well insulated thermos. I got it on a Deal of the Day for $80.

Bought for my father who constantly has to reheat his coffee because he doesn't like to have a tongue apparently...He loves it. He's all about his apps and this one is great for him. Even without the heating it keeps liquids hot enough. Sleek design and well built. Don't like the price but hey, nice stuff is not cheap.

Love the product. Knowing the liquid inside is at your preferred drinking temperature is heavenly. Purchased May 10, 2019. Now, May 11, 2020 and the battery wont charge anymore. But it will keep the liquid at set temp while on the charging base. Too bad we can't replace the battery and even more unfortunately, the replacement travel mug2 got a price increase.

The tumbler it’s self is a decently insulated tumbler, but it could be better and with cold drinks it works about the same. The battery for one of them last about 2 hours or so depending on how you use it. The charging station that it comes with is sleek and appealing to the eye. One bad thing about it is that it can be hard to clean without a brush. I love the fact that it comes with a companion app that is compatible with the Apple Watch. Another downside is the price, i feel as though it should be a bit less expensive. Overall it’s a pretty good product.

I got my second one of these because I have been a big fan of how it keeps the drink at the perfect temperature. But this one was very buggy and would show empty even though it was full and I would have to turn it off and on. I tried cleaning it to see if that would fix it but didn't seem to have an effect. I also had issues with the touch sensitive on/off button area where it would take several tries to turn it on. The battery life is not very good even with the lid on. For the price, it should work right 100% of the time. Mr. Coffee heating pad that you can set a regular mug on is 1/10th of the cost. It is hard to justify it with the amount of issues that I have had.

This is a great quality travel mug although I felt the reservoir is rather small. Pretty much holds a single cup of coffee so basically if you really nurse your coffee consumption - it would be great. For those of us that drink coffee until we smell colors - it just doesn't hold enough. If you're a desk jockey, I would recommend the Ember coffee mug instead. It has the wireless charging coaster and is easier to refill.

With that being said, after 2 weeks we started having issues with the charging and battery of the cup. Now, I’ve reached out to Ember directly, and we are working on getting a replacement. Not a cheap travel mug, even when it's on sale, but overall it does as good job of keeping my coffee at a constant temperature so I can enjoy it much longer. If you need to keep drinking beyond 2 hours, you really need to place it on the charging coaster so the battery doesn't run out. I wish that the charging coasters weren't so expensive as I would like to have one at home and work.
