“Wondering is the power cord sticks out from the rear of the unit at all. I am fitting the unit on a shelf and the depth clearance is tight. Assume when top is raised the cord has space at the rear of the unit.”

The power cord does stick out the back. You'll need a little over a inch from the wall. (1 1/8" to 1 1/4")

Please try again later.The power cord, which is located at the left rear of the printer (when facing the front of the printer) does require a couple of inches of clearance. I faced a similar clearance problem when the top of the printer is raised because an upper shelf is located just 5 inches above the printer, when the cover is closed. If that happens to be an issue, the front of the printer has to be positioned about 10 inches from the front edge of the upper shelf.
