- Answer The big difference is black levels. If you're going to watch movies in a completely light controlled room, then the 5050UB will be the better choice, otherwise save the $$$ and get the 4010. I have a 5050UB in a completely light controlled room and the blacks are great. But as soon as I open a door or allow light past my blacked out curtains, the black levels become mediocre.

- Answer Hi Jose, The Home Cinema 5050UB is typically used in home theater setups where an A/V receiver sends video to the projector and audio to a surround sound system. It does not have Bluetooth or audio output jacks. You would need to purchase an external device to send sound to Bluetooth speakers. Other Epson projector models have built-in speakers and/or Bluetooth sound capabilities Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

- Answer I bought 2 30ft cables. One 8k and 1 4k. For 4k i purchased iBirdie 30 Feet HDMI 2.0 Fiber Optic Cable, 4K at 60Hz (4 4 4, Dolby Vision, HDR10, E-ARC) and 18Gbps for in-Wall Installation, One Direction. For 8k I purchased CABLEDECONN 8K HDMI Optic Cable Real UHD HDR 8K 48Gbps,8K@60Hz 4K@120Hz HDMI Fiber 10m 33ft Support 3D HDCP2.2 HDMI Cable for PS4 SetTop Box HDTVs Projectors. I checked connecting my computer monitor to these cables and they worked as expected without any issues. So I assumed they will work with my Epson 5050UB projector as well and the cables have been fished inside our media room wall. Within the next week I'll let you know how it works with the projector as my media room construction is nearing completion.

- Answer Once you go over 15 feet in length you need to get yourself a fiber HDMI cable. I am using a 50 foot RUIPRO fiber HDMI cable for my Epson 5050ub and I've had no issues.

- Answer Yes I would get one. Lots of people have had handshake issues with this projector. I had the Uhd60 before this and my 30ft cable worked fine with it but wouldn't play nice with the Epson. I ended up going fiber and now have no problems

- Answer With an HDMI 2.0 cable, rated for 18gbps, it is capable of 60fps HDR yes. My case, we had to order a 50ft fiber optic HDMI cable to span the distance from source to projector. The traditional copper did not have enough bandwidth, this will be the case for any project due to the amount of data.

QuestionWhen purchasing movies for this projector, should I go with 4k versions or stick with just BluRay since the projector is not true 4k? With my 5.1.2 system will getting a regular BluRay disc degrade audio quality as opposed to the 4k discs?

- Answer Go with 4K discs, they look great with this projector. Also, most blu-rays are incapable of presenting Dolby Atmos while it's common on 4K discs (depending on each movie's production). As someone with 7.2.4, 4K is 100% the way to go every time if you want the best audio presentation. Blu-rays will still sound good, but 4K will deliver maximum performance with a setup like yours and you'll easily be able to notice the difference.

QuestionMy Epson 5050ub shows no input signal when using Roku ultra set at 4k through my Yamaha 880 4k receiver. If I plug Roku directly into existing hdmi cable from back of receiver it works at full resolution. I have gone through every setting option possible

- Answer Hello Frank. Your audio receiver may be upscaling to an unsupported signal on the 5050UB. As a suggestion, you can try going into the Signal menu > Advanced > EDID - and try to change the EDID setting to Normal. If the issue continues, we recommend contacting Yamaha for further support. QuestionI wanted the 5050ub-1,000,000 vs 4010-200,000 but it doesnt support smooth motion frame in 4K. This feature only works in 1080p. So should I just save money sticking with the 4010 since I'll ONLY use just 1080 or will the 5050ub stil look better in 1080p?
