“Can you tell me if the paper feed mechanism uses plastic feed gears on metal shafts? I'm replacing an HP unit because the HP unit does and I've had to repair it twice - and its has failed again (same problem). Asking about design, not warranty.”

Plastic parts on plastic gears. Compared to HP, very loud when getting ready to print, when printing, and when passing the paper outside. More malfunctions with this printer in 6 weeks, than with my previous HP in 6 years.
