A:AnswerNo. If you put a black ink cartridge in a color slot it will not preform correctly because the color cartridges are matched up with a chip on the ink cartridge that matches to the printer software. However some Epson models do have 2 slots for black ink cartridges. I believe you can purchase an Epson printer with black ink only. You also want to look at printers that can take the high yield black ink cartridges, cost a little more but it holds more ink.
