Please try again later.The Escort M1 can work alone without a detector, but you will need the EZ Mag Mount and SmartCord power cable that come with Escort radar detectors in order to mount and power the M1. If you do not have an Escort radar detector already, you would need to purchase those parts separately in order to properly operate the M1.

The device streams to your phone in addition to storing video on an included micro SD card. However, tmobil phones block the port used by the streaming software. I got around it by using an old ipad for the streaming.

It will work with any detector that takes the old phone style connector. It doesn't actually communicate with the detector at all. it just takes power from the line and plugs into the detector to pass power along.

It will, according to the pamphlet, work with any Escort/Bel Tronics radar detector but you have to purchase the correct sticky mount for the radar detector, replace the pin and then attach the camera. (BTW, the screw that needs to be replaced comes in the dashcam's packaging and MAYBE takes 1 minute to replace.)
