They my not have had their radar/laser turned on. May interfere with their doughnut break!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Their radar / laser wasn't on. They were sitting just to get everyone to slow down. Troopers can do the instant radar, if it's not on and aimed at you the detector isn't going to alarm you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There are possibly 2 answers t this. 1. if the state patrol had radar, then it may have not been on. The radar detector will not detect a police car in the median. It will only detect if the officer is shooting radar. 2. If the officer was using laser, then that is much more difficult to detect unless it is right on you. At that point, the state patrol already has you. The width of laser is not very wide and unless you are in the direct path of the car that is being shot (or unless its you) then your radar detector will probably not detect it. State Patrol her in AZ has begun using laser. I drove by 3 of them today in the median and never did have an alert using a different brand radar. My Waze application however did let me know that drivers had reported the police as being there.
