• yes u can hook it up with straight to ur car battery if u purchase other wires for it, i have my doen working very well

• We do not currently offer a USB power cord for our detectors (we are exploring this possibility), but compatible cords can be found on the market that will work with them. The cord would need to provide 12 volts to the detector. Thanks!
