No power means no recording. They sell a solar panel if you wish and it tops off the built-in battery. Firmware updates fix bugs and offer new features. They run in the background and don't affect recordings. Two factor authorization is done on your device used to view recordings.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Correct, if the battery drains completely you won't have that camera until you recharge. However the battery life is REALLY good. Does not require port forwarding. Automatic setup takes care of just about everything. Firmware on mine only had to be updated on initial install. I will probably check again in a month or two when I take them down to recharge, but it hasn't prompted me to do so. Connects to your own wifi, so that end of security is up to you. No idea if they sell solar panels for them, but seriously for as infrequently as they need recharging, I wouldn't waste the $$ on solar or any other attempts to hardwire power.
