“Can you choose when to record? Say that the camera could not detect movement bc the object was out of range, can I still have the option to record a video of the out of range object?”

You can manually click record and it will start to record. Once you stop it, the video will be saved to your phone gallery and not inside the Eufy app. It goes the same with a snapshots, you can take any snapshots and it will be saved in your gallery. It has to be done manually.
