• Had you looked at that answers and questions, you would have found your answer. You may not ever read this one as well, but it only operates as stated on 2.4g reason being that it reaches much further than 5g. However, you can run it without had you ran it with the Base on direct link via a network cable to your router. I know of no 5g only wifi units. Did you install it via the instructions with Home Base>
