Good question, I have one that only gets a couple hours of morning sun and it’s fine. Included is a cable and mounting hardware to locate the solar panel a few feet away from the camera, if that helps.

The battery will likely drain faster than the solar panel can replenish it, especially during cloudy seasons or high‑usage periods (e.g., frequent motion alerts). You may need to recharge the camera manually via USB‑C every few weeks to prevent it from dying. For best results, try to position the camera where it gets at least 2‑3 hours of direct sunlight per day, even if that means mounting it at the edge of the porch rather than the deepest shade.
