You can silence it within 25 seconds before ring monitoring is notified of the alert. If you system is using modes you can also choose to not have it monitored when you are disarmed or in home mode.

I already have a ring system that will be monitored (required by my insurance) I'm still wondering if I can silence a false alarm from the Ring app (or with Alexa) before Ring sends a message to the monitoring service? If I'm in the middle of cooking, it will definitely take more than 25 seconds to press the physical button.
