“Aside from using the 'Test' button, is there any other way to know that this detector is 'On' and actively working? I set up my detector and none of the LED lights are green...should the Smoke Power LED light be green to signal the detector is on?”

I don't believe there is just looking at the unit. IF one of those leds blinks for this purpose I've never seen it. However, if you have it connected to your Ring security system you can check the status (and battery level) in the app. The only problem with this is that it may take a long time for the Ring system to notice an alarm that has gone offline. Of course there is always the "set it off" test - I've not done this on purpose but have had the alarm go off due to a fog machine being used in kids room.
