Yes it does buzz to remind you if you've been inactive but are clearly awake.

I have mine set off every 10 minutes before the hour if I do not reach a minimum of 250 steps for the hours I selected to be active.

Yes, the Fitbit will sort of buzz you with a message to get moving periodically if you aren't getting some steps in during the day. I get up and walk a couple hundred steps each hour when it lets me know I need to get active. Good way to get the blood flowing and keeps you from getting sleepy if you have a desk job.

Yes. You will set your goal of how many steps you want to achieve in a day. It rewards you when you achieve, by buzzing and fireworks on your product face. It will also try and motivate you , by a positive jingle when you are close to your hourly goal.

You can set it to vibrate every hour to remind you to walk. It can also vibrate when you get a phone call and when you get text. The face of the alta will display the caller or text sender.
