I just wrote a review on the Fitbit Alta when I bought it for a friend. You can't try it on in the store and that was sad because I didn't know what size to purchase since it was a gift. Secondly, don't buy it too early prior to giving it because at Best Buy, you only have 14 days to return it if not satisfied. This is sad. In my opinion, if you have arthritis in your fingers you will have great difficult getting it on and off and snapped. This was the downside to the Fitbit Alta that I just reviewed. In fact, it is still difficult to snap and my friend has worn it for over a month.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I feel the band is a little tough to secure. You need to press pretty hard to pop the one end into the other. It actually hurt my thumb a little. The Up by Jawbone secures around your wrist on it's own or the Up 24 has a wristband like a watch.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think the original band would be hard to fasten with arthritis in your hands , but there are other bands that you can purchase separately that would be easier.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not have arthritis and cannot get this band clasped. I have bruises on my wrist from trying. They have replacement bands, so maybe they have one with a buckle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They have a sample that they let us try on before we bought it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought mine inn best buy and yes they did that for me
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It was initially difficult to put on but had to get used to manipulating the band. The Fitbit Blaze may work better for you.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would highly recommend a Fitbit that has a watch type clasp. The closure on the Alta requires the ability to clasp fingers tightly to get it into the little pegs. Fitbit also makes a tracker that can be attached to your belt, lapel, pocket loop as well that might be better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can't try them in store. Initially it will take some time for you to wear it on but once the grooves get adjusted then I think it shouldn't be a problem. Not sure about how it will be for you since you have arthritis.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The bestbuy store from where I bought my Alta had sample bands that they let me try to check size. However, they will not let you open a new packet before you purchase it. Also, after buying it, if it doesn't work out, you can return it with full refund, just make sure of the return policy and dates with your store.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
