Haven't had problems with the band on this one; they have made some improvements. Also, this has the ability to change out and there are several third parties that make them!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The new ones now have replaceable wristbands. Their pricey, but at least now you can replace them or change colors. We had the same issue twice.

The points you raise (I had 4 Charge HRs in a year - all covered by their excellent return policy), is what initially made me NOT want to get a Charge 2. (Bands broke, battery died, other issues.) However, after reading the reviews, and trying a Garmin, the Charge 2 seems like the model to beat at this price point. Given Fitbit's track record on standing by their product, if it does break, I imagine they'll replace; though I would prefer not to have to!
