Yes. You can choose if you want it to display just the name of the person texting or the name and first line of the text. For caller id, it displays the name.

Yes, you get both. You can change how they're displayed ( name and text preview or just name) and calls show up under the persons name if they are a contact in your phone -- otherwise it showcases the phone number like so: (555) 555-5555. It also vibrates once per text message and continually for an incoming phone call.

You do not get notifications for other apps though (so no twitch alerts/ game alerts/ etc.)

You can set up the charge 2 to show text notifications. It also shows caller info for incoming calls.

Yes, although you should keep in mind that it requires you to have your fitbit connected via bluetooth to your phone (which can take a toll on battery life). The fitbit will vibrate letting you know who's calling or if you recieve a text, and the text will scroll across the screen letting you see it without having to whip out your phone. The alta showed about a sentence or two of the text followed by a "..." if it was too long (not sure if the charge 2 will show the entire message)
