Yes. You can set up which notifications you would like to receive in the app. It is not compatible with all apps so you won't get all notifications like from Facebook, Snapchat etc. But text, phone, and email can all be setup.

As far as email notifications, it depends on what app you’re using for you email. I have an iPhone and cannot get notifications from the default mail app.

You'll need a compatible phone though and you have to enable notifications and then select which ones you want to see on the charge 3. I think there even is a test option now to make sure the phone is communicating with the fit bit
