I have noticed that it's variable its on and off at different times,

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can change the heart rate monitor to ON which is always on, Off so it doesn't go on and auto so when you are wearing it is stays on. This can all be done on your dashboard on the computer. I am unsure if the option is available on the app. This post was a month ago so you may have already figure it out.
