• That would depend on your vehicle. The 12 volt power tap in our Nissan requires the ignition to be in the “accessory” or “on” position in order to provide power. In our F150 the power tap is active regardless of the ignition position. It would be important to remember that regardless of what is necessary for the power tap to provide power, if the engine is not running, using the blanket will drain the battery.

• Depends on your vehicle. If your cigerett lighter works without the key being turned on then the blanket will work.
