Best idea ever!!! U NEED THIS NOW!
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Best gift ever! I LOVE my heated car blanket, it's SUPER easy to use and keeps me SOOOO WARM on those early morning before the car is warmed up enough for heat but if I wait any longer I'll be late LMAO It's super soft and comes with a clear zip bag to keep the blanket in when not in use. The shipping was EXCELLENT, it got here basically 2 days later which was quicker than expected. I also got another one to give as a gift.....the sale price was AMAZING! I should have ordered one for everyone in my family!

I like it but its slow and not very warm
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. The fleece material of the blanket itself is good, the stitching and overall quality is good, color very nice. Good long cord on it. Now the biggest downside is that this thing just doesn't get very warm. Used it over top of me on the couch for 45 minutes and didn't feel anything. Put it under me (sat on it) on the couch, with a regular blanket on top of me, and then after a half hour of watching TV I realized it was somewhat warm and it was working, but it never gets beyond "warm" and you only get that warm feeling if you sit on it and use another blanket to trap the heat in. That doesn't make it useless in my book. On the plus side it seems to be fairly efficient. It only draws 27-38 watts according to the lithium power station I have been using to run it. I don't know exactly how many hours total its been ran but my 288 wh battery pack (very roughly 19ish amp hours) has been running it off and on for at least 8-10 hours total and as I type this I still have 23% battery left. One unfortunate note I have come to notice is that a portion of that 30-some watts its drawing is being lost right at the tip of the power plug. It took me a long time to notice, but I've discovered that whenever I unplug it the tip of the power plug is hot to the touch. I've tried this with a couple different sockets now on different power packs, all with the same result. Electricity is not being transferred efficiently at the tip of the plug, causing it to get hot, and the tip of the plug is NOT where we want the heat/energy to go! This is energy being lost before it make sit into the blanket to warm me. So if the overall draw is 32 watts, based on how you can barely touch the tip of the plug without being burnt I'd guestimate that only 20ish watts is making it into the blanket. That stinks. I very well might cut the end off this and use a different connector for it, like an andersen plug. The 12v cigarette lighter plugs we are used to and find so convenient were never designed or intended to be used as power connecters the way we use them today, so I won't dock the blanket overall too hard on that because they can't control the fact that 12v cigarette ports have accidently become the defacto 12v accessory port of choice, but it is still something I figured I should share. Because my battery pack tells me the wattage being pulled I am able to observe that this blanket DOES HAVE some kind of regulation in it, because once I was sitting on the blanket with another regular blanket over the top of me watching TV for a few hours I began to notice that the wattage draw from the blanket would occasionally drop to 0 watts for a few minutes, then it would go to 30-some watts for a while, and back to 0, and repeat. So it DOES have some kind of self regulating feature, which makes it very efficient with my battery pack when used properly (ie, underneath you with a top layer to trap the heat). I was going to say that the blanket doesn't appear to have any low voltage cut-off for battery protection, but low and behold just now at 10.35 volts the blanket's red LED is still ON at the plug but my battery pack shows no current is being drawn... I've given the blanket a few minutes in open air to cool down and.... ope... well folks now the blanket is on again drawing 27 watts, and my power pack is down to 10.1 volts so it seems the blanket was simply up to temp and not drawing because it was regulating temperature. So I will confirm that there is NO low battery protection in this blanket's circuitry, if left on it will run a battery beyond dead and probably even beyond the point where it could damage your battery, so keep an eye on that. Also there is no switch or heat settings. Plugged in is ON, unplugged is OFF, and thats the only control you get (plus its built in regulation). If you are only partially sitting on it (ie, on a computer chair) and the part of it that reads temp to regulate is not underneath you then it will basically just run steady but it still never gets "hot". Warm, but not hot. All that being said, the temperature that it self-regulates to is pleasant. Although it is very slow to heat up, I think it is perfect as something to lay under you in your sleeping bag for camping and even though it has no controls the temp it levels out at is comfortable and the fact that it will shut off at a certain temp means a modest battery or power supply will keep you warm all night without wasting any extra electricity. Its decently pleasant under you on the couch for TV but simply too slow to heat and not hot enough that I don't think we will use it much for that other than the testing I have done for this review. So in conclusion... I got this dirt cheap on deal of the day, combined with a rewards certificate, so I paid almost nothing for it and at that price I am happy. As I said this would work perfect for camping so long as you use it properly bundled up with other layers. The downside is I think that is really the only valid use I will have for it, it is far to slow to use for passenger comfort in the car unless you are going to be on a road trip for 2+ hours and that is a non issue for me (my car has heated seats anyways). If you can snag a good deal and understand its limitations, go for it. At full price expecting high performance, keep looking for another option.

Dc electric blanket
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed. These we a big hit as gifts this holiday. When our idiot neighbor shot down power lines at midnight on new years eve, these kept us all warm in the frigid temperatures until the utility company finally was able to run new lines, after the fire department took care of the fire, to restore power in the neighborhood. Everyone should have one of these as an emergency blanket in their vehicles.

Excellent!
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I didn't think I would use this blanket as much as I already have, but it's cold and this blanket is awesome! When I start my work car in the mornings, I plug it in to help warm up my seat before my 35 minute commute to work. It is an excellent addition to have on these recent, severely cold mornings. I leave it partially folded, laying across my lap and it makes a huge difference in warmth as I wait my car to warm up. The quality of the blanket is equally impressive. The material is thick and very warm on its own. Keep in mind this is only powered via a 12V output and isn't going to be super warm like your household heated blankets are, but it definitely provides enough heat to help maintain your bodily temperature and keep you warm. I highly recommend adding this blanket to your emergency kit as your car doesn't have to be running for it to have power. (This is also something to keep in mind with regular use too - don't leave it plugged in because it doesn't turn of when you kill the engine and will eventually drain your car's battery.)

Q: QuestionHow many heating watts?
Asked by Tesla.
- A:Answer I did a search on the internet, the answer is 4.5 amp. It is the same as 4.5a X 12v = 54watts. The portable electric heaters in our home use 1500 watts each.

Q: QuestionWhy pray tell is there no information regarding the Wattage? How can one advertise a 12V item without including the wattage (or amperage)? Can somebody please respond + add this information to the specifications section?

Q: QuestionHow many watts does this electric blanket draw ? If my engine is running, I do not need to use this electric blanket. Will it drain my car battery in 30 minutes ?
Asked by Johnny.
- A:Answer 45 watts. I don’t think you need to worry about such a low watt draw. Just don’t leave it plugged in.

Q: Questioncan you adjust the heat?
Asked by rsav1203.
This question was asked about the related product: Stalwart - Electric Car Blanket- Heated 12V Polar Fleece Travel Throw for Car, Truck & RV- Great for Tailgating & Emergency Kits - Orange Plaid
- A:Answer No, and there is no on/off switch either. Plugged in is ON, unplugged is OFF. It reaches only one temperature, which is "warm" but not "hot", and then it self-regulates on and off to maintain that "warm but not hot" temperature from there. This will only happen if its being used as a base layer under you with other regular blankets over top to trap in all the heat.

Q: Questiongot this for my wife. no real instructions, but can it be folded and used as a seat warmer while driving????
Asked by awe51.
- A:Answer Unfortunately, when checking the tag it specifically speaks to how you should not sit on the blanket when plugged in nor should you fold or crimp it in any way. I've included a pic of the tag for your reference. Best of luck.

Q: QuestionDoes this work with the car off?
Asked by CuriousGeorge.
- A:Answer Yes it does, if your vehicle has a direct 12v outlet. Most vehicles 12v outlet only works with ignition key turned/on. ... I wouldn't recommended it if you have an older battery. If so, start vehicle in 20-30min intervals to be safe and not drain your battery. It's a good product, works as it should. I bought a second one for work truck.
