“This says it has an ice storage capacity of 2.65 lbs. How long does the ice stay frozen for after being made if I leave it in the machine? Does it immediately start to melt, or will it be ok for awhile before I have time to use it or put it in the freezer”

The machine continually makes ice, it does not have the ability to keep it cold for long periods. It just melts & the ice maker makes more as long as there is water in the reservoir. I put mine in the ice storage bin of my upright freezer. It’s makes great crushed ice or works fine for cubes as well. Just shake off any excess water before dumping it in.
