I would like to set up this unit for my 89 year old MIL, who lives alone. I'm concerned about the fiddliness of draining. When draining the unit, is there a way to attach the hose without the water draining while you're attaching it? null

Yeah, I'm not talking about the exhaust ducting, but draining the condensate, for which you have to attach a garden hose. Seems a bit klugy.

I don't drain at all. The hot air is condensed on large hose and warm air is expelled outside. I haven't seen any leaks so far. Installation was not difficult and I didn't have to remove any window parts. I highly recommend it.
