A:AnswerMine had the same error after one day of running it. You can open the drain plug at the BOTTOM of the unit and drain out any water. that will clear the error. you shouldn't have to empty that try again unless you run it in dehumidy. if the error comes back, it is defective. i had to exchange my for the same problem. the new one works great.
A:Answeri just bought this and it DOES not require any draining in AC mode... you only need to drain if you use dehumidifier. i just called frigidaire to confirm this.
A:AnswerIt is quite loud. I have mine in my living room, when watching television I normally keep my tv on 20 (volume), with this running I need to raise to about 26-30, depending if I am running it in low fan speed or high fan speed.
A:Answerno you do not need to drain this in AC mode. i had the same concern when i bought it. there are two drains, but its not necessary to use them in AC mode.
A:AnswerHey Ev! When the air conditioner FFPA0822R1 displays a “P1” error that means the bottom tray is full and needs to be drained. Please, do not hesitate to contact us directly or via the Q&A forum on this website for any additional assistance. –Thanks!-
A:AnswerHello Frigidaire Shopper! The air conditioner FFPA0822R1 will come with an installation kit, which will include a vent exhaust. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
A:AnswerHey Cueball! The window filler kit does not need to be drilled or screwed into place. It will open to fit the space of 26.6 inches to 48.5 inches. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
A:AnswerYes. Regular 115 outlet. Draws 8 amps. Circuit breakers in houses are either 15 amp, or 20 amp. 12 amps is normal max run time load (80%) for a 15 amp circuit. 16 amps is same for 20 amp circuit. Both may have more than 1 outlet on the same circuit, so watch what else is plugged in elsewhere. Generally, this AC unit is good to use, 1 on a 15 amp with other loads as well, or 2 on a 20 amp, no other steady devices. No one actually limits the load to that guidance and runs higher loads w/o breaker popping. ThIs unit also has 3 fan speeds, (harder to find) and sleep mode.
A:AnswerMost units will put out a higher noise level on a high fan setting. The lower setting on this unit is relatively quiet. The 3 setting level is louder but that is typically used for a "fast cool" situation which is not typical.
Also, it depends upon the acoustics of the area being used: rooms with hard surfaces such as glass will be louder than carpeted areas. This unit has a satisfactory noise level on level 1 and two.
A:AnswerHello GailD! There are two ways to drain the water that comes into the air conditioner FFPA0822R1. The dehumidifying drain outlet is located in the middle of the back of the air conditioner and there is an additional bottom drain for the air conditioner as well. You would plug your hose into the dehumidifier drain hose outlet for proper draining and it is drained out by gravity not through a pump. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
A:AnswerThank you for reaching out to us, Bob! On the control panel of the air conditioner there is a filter reset button. Holding that for at least five seconds should reset the filter light and operation. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
A:AnswerUnder normal operating conditions keep the plugs in both the top drain (rubber plug in the black hose thread) and bottom drain (Knob with black rubber stopper at the bottom of the unit). There is and internal water tank that holds the water and it evaporates with use and goes out of the exhaust tube. Under extremely humid conditions the tank may reach a limit where the unit shuts off and shows an error code, otherwise the unit should not have to be drained or let to drip in a/c mode.
A:AnswerYes you can detach everything and compile it in storage space. However, my unit does not cool the room very well. The room is only 150ft^2 (well within the specs) and it just doesn't cool the whole room. It may be best to get a bigger unit. I am not satisfied with this unit.
A:AnswerIt stretches to about 5 ft. Similar to a dryer hose. You can get a coupling and add to the stock vent hose if needed. However, the exhaust efficiency is lowered the more is added to the hose.
Note that the stock hose is sufficiently long enough for most applications.
A:AnswerYes, left side is fine as long as the hose reaches and is not pulling on the window insert.
It may take (2) to get the hose attached to the spacer. Before you install the hose vent, measure the rectangular spacer so that it fills the open space in the window. If you are using the extender piece, use a philips head screw driver on the (2) screws to hold the length you need in place.
REMOVE FROM THE SPACER FROM WINDOW, extend an end of the hose fully and screw on the round attachment (with the wire screen), several turns so it is securely attached to the end of the hose, next, line up the (3) "L" shaped tabs with the slats on the spacer, insert and twist to lock in place (may take 2 people). Install spacer (with hose attached) in the window, close the window tight against the side flanges of the spacer, there are screws if you need to secure it more. I have not used the screws the window holds it fine.
Last step, screw on the other round end attachment, several turns on the hose until it lines up with the back of the unit. Slide it to place.
Hope that helps!
A:AnswerThis unit must be vented to outside as expels heated air in order to cool as all A/C units do whether floor or window. You may try just an automatic shut off dehumidifier that would have to be emptied once humidity collects as water as we have this type of unit in the basement and feels like it's air conditioned in summer. Does a great job.
